This is a post that may be updated in the future with more criticisms if there is enough compulsion to watch the show further.  The first five to fifteen minutes are critical for any show on the big or silver screen.  There is basically only one flow that guaranties it will be successful.

Apparently NetFlix has hired mostly garbage bin writers who fail at understanding how to weave a good story, for the super'majority of their recent releases.  Why they are intentionally coercing their customers to go to another platform is beyond the understanding of mine.

There is a basic skeleton to all successful myths and modern stories.  The feet of that skeleton begin with what is called "The Refusal of the Call".  It is the foundation on which the rest of the skeleton depends.  It is in this first act that the writer must 'show' why the audience should care about the protagonist.

The initial protagonist, Karl D'Branin in the first five to fifteen minutes does the exact opposite of refuse the call.  He jumps headlong into it.  What is even worse, is the writers seemingly deliberately try to compel the audience to dislike the protagonist, because his 'jumping towards the call' ties also into ditching his loving and caring wife and child.

Therefore, Karl begins the story with a huge negative.  Yet there fails to be any reason the audience should care about him.  The writers 'tell' the audience why they should care, but it really just comes across as him whining, about how his family is holding him back from career advancement... people generally don't watch whiners.

Naturally, the character is a white affluent male.  Of course, it could just be literary license, but given recent releases from Hollywood it can easily be seen as pandering to S.J.W.s {Social Justice Warriors} who fail to buy tickets or pay for subscriptions.  That is their thing, blowhards who only want to force their personal ethics and morals onto others.

Hopefully this perception is changed, even if it fails to interest future versions of myself to watch it.  For those whom humble me with further interest in my critic of this show;  If further time is invested in watching this series, below the time disparity will be noted.

Generally suspension of disbelief allow me to enjoy shows far more than most known to me.  So when a show bothers me, it seems others might benefit from learning why, if they wish to know.

The 🎥 movie 🎥 has just been started by me.  This account will be updated after it is finished.  However, this bit seems very important to the distortion lens of mine.  A fundamental problem modern writers often have, is with the context of the post'apocalypse.  They often start a story off with "all of humanity did this…";  Unfortunately Mr. Jonathan Helpert falls into that crowd, think do I.

The flaw is thinking that there only exists one viable answer to any given problem.  They assume that because they are ignorant of why oxygen remains, that it is inevitable that it will disappear.  Adoptinga path from a prediction based in ignorance is an insane choice.   Then the author further compounds the error by assuming, that in the event such a great tragedy were to occur, there is only one solution, feel do I.  This is inherent in suggesting that only one group survived… the one that is self'named the 'Exodus' group.

These mistakes are compounded by suggesting that humanity as a whole all built starships to launch on the exact same year, day, hour, minute, and second.  It is ludicrous to even consider, because crowds fail to behave such as that.  Others would have proposed viable solutions that would  have resulted in more communities than the hermit and Io.

Of course, the mere existence of the protagonist inherently contradicts that whole chain of assumptions.  Yet the writer treats the artificially narrow and rigid thinking, as if its noteworthiness is lacking.  Suspension of Disbelief is real and good, but some modern writers seem to choose to use it as a crutch to beat the audience over the head with political dogma.

This could be a strong source as to why a few sapient choose to not realize that Climate Change is  occurring on all planets in our solar system according to N.A.S.A.'s own studies.  This could also be exacerbated by the Deep State owning ninety’one percent of all media companies that pay writers of fiction tries to treat the debunked hypothesis as pseudo'fact.

Of course, this is just unsubstantiated conjecture, but it seems doubtful that many sapients have been using gasoline burning engines on Pluto, Charon, Mercury, Mars, Juptiter, and its moons, Saturn, and its moons, Neptune, and its moons, Uranus, and its moons, Nibiru {Planet IX}, and any moons it may or may not have.  It is precisely because our sun is spewing more radiation that we know that even Pluto has an atmosphere.  Said atmosphere is changing and becoming more energetic.

The choice to write with the context of fiction, tragedies, and/or comedies are big ones because it limits the audience.  The choice to write with the context of Science Fiction, limits it even further.  Therefore, why a lot of modern writers feel compelled based their context of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Post’ Apocalypse on political dogma seems greatly beyond all rational or logical thought.

This is similar to how many artists feel compelled to be political.  The public may follow an actor but that is because of their art.  That choice is free of any relevancy to the actor’s political beliefs.  The plebeian desire is only in so far as to be entertained.  Being insulted. degraded, demeaned, and censored for simply chooseing an opposing perception fails to come even close to entertaining to plebeians, think do I.

Watching or reading novels with a context that is based on horrendously and blatantly flawed context also falls short of being entertaining to plebeians,, feel do I.

Humorously blatant statist brainwashing propaganda of a third episode to an otherwise wonderstrukk television series: Orville by Fox.  The show as a whole still does circles around the outrageously bogus Star Trek: Discovery produced by C.B.S., as a slap in the face to all Star Trek Fans.  This level of offense is similar to what Electronic Arts & BioWare did to fans of the Mass Effect franchise with how they wrote/produced the ending of Mass Effect III.

Read here for a more detailed accord of how few fucks were given by BioWare/E.A. on what the audience actually wanted from the third game.  The short of it, is that if they did choose to care what their fans wanted;  Then, they would have waited until Drew Karpyshyn was able and willing to spearhead the project.

The third episode in Orville first season, "About a Girl", is when the show's writers and producers made a bogus rip on the transgender debate in contemporary United States of America.  The one monolithic tragedy is how poorly the show relates to the issues that hermaphrodites face and the most successful strategies that parents, of hermaphrodites, have chosen.  The E.T.B.E. {Extra'Terrestrial Biological Entities} "girl" in question is born a girl, and the biological/societal E.T.B.E. parents want to hermetikally change the sex of the child to the same 'mono-gender' of their species.

Who this is coming from is part of the issue;  That is the same statist propagandized faction that are quick to mischaracterize all of the current United States's culture.  They are also eager to be critical of how poorly our ancestors treated the indigenous population of the Americas.  The point of mine, is that they advocating bullying the show's E.T.B.E. characters of this E.T.B.S. {Extra'Terrestrial Biological Species} into complying with the mischaracterized future "modern" culture of Terra.  By the Law of Attraction, the show's writers and producers dreadfully want our past to be horrendously repeated in the future.

What is so stark and thereby, is seen as forced brainwashing propaganda, by me.  Is that a sapient mono'gender species would see itself as free to either dual gender classification of male or female.  The show's writers erroneously expect such an E.T.B.S. as described in the show, to "claim" to be male.  Instead, only ignorant savages would seek to 'conform' to Terra's perception of gender.

Why this is even an issue is because the episode makes a big deal about the E.T.B.E. second tier characters of this E.T.B.S. performing peaceful civil disobedience against the Terran culture dominating this supposedly peaceful "Union" {a.k.a. Federation} ship, U.S.S. Orville.  There are always two sides to any problem, and of course the writers make a show of characterizing the human's insanity as repugnant.  Of course, it would be repugnant;  Except the entire scenario fails to make any logical or reasonable sense.
This is where the red line is drawn by me.  Thirteen minutes of the show is all that could be stomached, before the insanity threatened the harmony, serenity, and tranquility within me.  This is intentionally written to convey humor, because of how serious am I.
A scenario that would be a lot closer to be in'phase with our Prime Material, is the following.  A single gender E.T.B.S. would make it a point to correct any "human" that characterized them as male or female.  In the event that a 'girl' was born of a mono'gender species, they would fail to even suspect the child had a genetic mutation until the child's genetics were discovered.
Furthermore, a private militia that was under contract to represent the interests of a confederation;  That represented multiple different species from multiple different home'worlds...  Such a Navy would have trained its officers to be a great deal more tolerant and accepting of cultures and societies external to the officers' own.
The idea that the genetic deviation, or mutation, can be beneficial is worthy to focus an entire television episode, feel do I.  However, simply ignoring that the vast majority of mutations are in fact, harmful to the subject, is a disservice to the audience and makes the writers, producers, and directors of the show appear as ignorant hillbillies.

Zombie {refuse to call them actual vampyres do I} apocalypse survivor story and you have a better idea of what the story is for Van Helsing by SyFy.  At about the Third Act, compelled to stop watching was I.  Fans of that type of show are likely to like the series but this cup of tea fails to be for me, therefore it gets one out of three stars from me.

1. Stars ~ is for shows that only the uber fans of the genre in general.  If finding a zombie film or television series is difficult then these shows are for you.
2. Stars ~ is for shows that are good examples of a genre and most people will probably enjoy it.  This is for people who are able to enjoy most movies and overlook most errors in various parts of the script, acting, emersion, or continuity.
3. Stars ~ is for shows that are exceptional examples outside of the genre itself.  They are innovative, authentically original, and should be able to compel even most of those who are unable to stop nitpicking movies to death.

Just a guess, but the writer/producers chose the title simply because there are already so many zombie apocalypse survivor shows out there that are infinitely better, think do I.  Absolutely the "vampires" act more like zombies with the intelligence of an ape instead of human.  As one of the lines in the first episode says "they drink blood..." but that is the only thing vampirsh about them.  They dress and act like zombies.

Nomadic Pictures seems to have done a lot of documentary films, with Van Helsing being their first foray into producing a television series;  And this lack of experience shows.  Maybe they thought producing this show in a rising niche would help them make enough money to fuel more growth.  If that is the case then they failed utterly, believe do I.

The writing and directing seems to be the problem.  The actors and actresses can only do so much with the material they are given, and to often people mistakenly blame them for poor performances.  When the entire cast is subpar, it is highly more probable that the acting is fine.

Specifically what is wrong is none of the characters behave like they are survivors of a world that went crazy 'three years in the past'.  The show seems centered around the lone marine left to guard the head scientist {doctor} turn zombie, and a Sleeping 13eauty laid out on a medical examination table.

A few 'survivors' get brought into a supposedly "secure" medical facility except they all of them display alpha type personalities.  They immediately start whining and complaining about the setup the marine has been maintaining for three years.

Right off the bat, four of the 'survivors' demand to know the who and what is the sleeping beauty.  Right then the marine should have shot one in the head and told the rest the line he ended up saying.  The reason is simple, in a post-apocalypse scenario there fails to be 'any' margin of error.  If only one survivor failed to get the message and tried to cause trouble, they all would be toast.  However, this fails to be the only example of the marine failing to do his job.

Sleeping Beauty, assume she is the 'Van Helsing' despite the absolute lack of any connection to the mythos, displays and intelligence that is only marginally better than the zombies.  Seemingly they are going the mysticism angle with the preternatural creatures, because Van Helsing's mortal coil is supposedly technically dead.

The show implies that Van Helsing has some sort of miracle gene that allows her to be immune to whatever the nature is of the zombie virus.  Logic and reason suggest that the Goddess would compel the soul to manifest as a male instead of female.  If the 'producers' had a desperate desire to show equity with the sexes, then they could have two souls manifest mortal coils that will 'save' humanity.

Prejudice against the female sex, or sexism, fails to be the motivation for that statement.  A male would be able to impregnate multiple females and thus create offspring with his immunity far more quickly than would a female.  In a dystopia post-apocalypse realm numbers of 'humans' are of cardinal importance to survival of the species.

Afterall the zombies lack the intelligence or wisdom capable of figuring out that if they kill off all the humans, then they will starve to death.  Quiet appalling is how lacking in any sense, are these "vampires".

All of that is metaphysical theory-crafting though, and so it could be abundantly disharmonious with the actual mythos of the show.  As said previously, the third act is as far as the show was able to hold my attention.  That is saying something because normally exceptionally forgiving am I.  Friends commonly disregard my recommendations of good shows or movies because of how much I can suspend my disbelief.

My nickname for Van Helsing, Sleeping Beauty, is more appropriate as she does 'awaken' with a kiss but it fails to be on her lips.  The first name for her fails to even be a female derivation of Abraham, instead its Vanessa.  The character literally fails to have any connection with the kryptology of Van Helsing.  There fails to be any governing body in charge of the 'brand' but an iota of common sense suggests this is imperative.

However, if some better eye-candy {attractive actors/actresses} had been chosen for the characters then that may have compelled me to stomach through the first few episodes, maybe more.  That is simply honest the reader and myself, being me.

Thank you for sharing your time and Force;  May you ask the Goddess to eternally alight your path.  Please understand that far from perfect am I.  That realization too is far from new to me;  Therefore, with the goal of helping are the critics made by me.  If the show does well enough for SyFy to order the rest of the season, hopefully the makers of the show can use what is written by others and/or I, to help turn around the quality of the show.

Romans named it the Day of Saturn. I prefer the original Middle English name of Sunnanafen. That is their words for 'Sun' & 'Eve' put together.

I was thinking about romance novels today and how I would favor a novel about a male protagonist choosing both females who would otherwise rival each other for his love. The thought is about polyamory instead of polygamy which is misogynistic I believe.

I believe that everyone loves everyone else. Part of free will is the choice to choose to be blind to that love. The other part being to obey or rebel. Society and culture indoctrinate us into thinking similarly with the collective as a whole.

The scenario of one male and two females is simply biology. Men have a biological reason for jealousy added to the shared social and prevailing reasons with women.

Instead of me being misogynistic, I am simply stating biology. We must accept and embrace out animal nature or forever be ruled by it. Through acceptance and forgiveness we gain control.

A story could also be about one woman and two guys but my understanding of that in this lifecycle fails. I simply lack any interest in men outside of learning in general.

We already accept that we 'love' more than one person. Some simply choose to see 'romantic' love as somehow different. However evidence contrives against that theory. Observation-ally all 'romantic' adds to live is intimacy with another an that is very different from emotions.

Intimacy is simply sharing carnal knowledge with another. Society, culture, and biology dictate sharing intimacy outside of family is preferred. However, we are quickly approaching an age where biology will be removed from that reasoning because of genetic engineering. They will simply alter any negative mutations that do occur innately through even incest.

Within the first generation of an incestuous scenario, negative mutations only increase in probability by 7%; From a base 25%.

As long as both participants are above the age of consent and willing, personally I think incest is fine.  Except if one is a guardian/parent of another, it is evil until the progeny has moved out and lived away from the person for a period of time.  In that circumstance actual willingness for the younger person is irrelevant until they are capable of living on their own and have already done so.

I believe mind over matter and positive thinking so actually affecting any progeny negatively is negligible.  In addition to the new genetics options that seem to be growing every year.  People may balk at custom designing their kids to be supposedly superior.  However, the super majority seem to want the removal of actual illness and disease.

The rules against incest only ever started with Christians because Austrian's royal family tried 'purifying' their bloodline with inbreeding.  After a couple generations the physical manifestation of how wrong this was forced even the Vatican to prohibit it.  When practitioners ceased giving the Vatican governance power. The new governing bodies simply continued the laws that already existed and seemed like a good idea.

Note that I said this only occurred after 'several' generations of inbreeding.  The concept of 'mutant' babies from simply one generation is simply wrong at best, or fearmongering at worst.

Without biology, social and cultural morals and ethics are more easily overcome in both this and my overall thinking of Jealousy.

By prevailing I mean to suggest the reptilian mind within a woman wants a mate that will help her raise children. Money, career, family, health, society all play a roll in any individual case. Though each coupling is different.

For instance, Tay Tay absolutely and abundantly accepts, forgives, and embraces that I am more broke than Hillary Clinton knows is possible. She does this because the success with her career has removed her want for money or even family in a husband.

Since I am a virgin in relationships and physically I probably am with a clue about the emotional drama regarding polyamory. That is why I will wait for her to bring up, 'us' dating a woman together, on her own.

If my naivete means that this idea is wrong then I will be abundantly happy with that. By the Goddess's will I know what ever happens will be the scenario that helps me choose go be happy the most.

I want to read a couple series of romantic science fiction novels about this though to help me overcome a little of my naivete. Besides guarantied happy endings, romance novels automatically are good at helping to understand women, dating, and relationships in general. Afterall most romance novels seem to be written by women.

Soulless is a salaciously ebullient omega to the Parasol Protector series of books.  Miss Alexia Tarabotti is an urbane pragmatic heroine with a erudite sagacious bluestocking intellect.  While expatiating the her life and adventures, Mrs. Gail Carriger is adroit in her writing of late 18th century.  The novel is virtuoso as an example of SteamPunk Romantic fiction.

Alexia's mother, step-father, and two half-sisters have convinced her that she is ugly and unwanted as the story begins.  Mrs. Carriger is bravura with how she expatiates Alexia's interpersonal relationships.  Her mother is far from fitting, say, the stereotype of the wicked stepmother in some fanciful fable.  Her sisters are still mean except it is easy to see how they are a product of their environment mostly.

I disagree with Mrs. Carriger in how truly 'alone' such an avatar would be.  Seemingly other eccentric and deviant compatriots the Alexia should be acquainted are mentioned as existing, however she fails to see them in her future.  For instance, it is only in the fourth book that Alexia begins developing her own information gathering spiderweb with her oldest friend Ivy.

However, all authors are limited by their own perception of the world around them.  I far from mean any disrespect it simply is pragmatic.  :)

Naturally a solution is easier said than done;  However if I were to suggest an example:   I think it is entirely reasonable that other Academic students would keep in contact with Alexia as their lives changed.  These 'scientists' would be a valuable information gathering source.  There is more in my mind but that would be getting off topic.

Alexia has deep seated flaws in her psyche, however she does evolve and grow with the world around her.  The novel essentially begins in the middle of 'Alexia's story.  Even near the end of the book the reader is learning her interpersonal verity of the past.

The significant other to Alexia is Lord Conall Maccon, an Earl, therianthropic wolf who is in charge of the government agency responsible for managing the supernatural element in London and England as a whole.  Both characters have alpha personalities and so history that Mrs. Carriger skips with beginning the novel is backfilled with the two characters challenging each-other constantly.  The novel begins as their amorous emotions swells over how much they challenge each-other, that being a great deal.

I highly encourage those reading this far into this post to at least get this first book and begin reading.  Whether you enjoy steampunk, science, fantasy, or romantic fiction I abundantly ken that ye will enjoy the story as much as I do

The purpose of me reading this particular novel is to help me understand Steampunk and romantic fiction.  With writing my own stories I am very exuberant with all the old Victorian era words Mrs. Carriger uses.  I bookmark them after I look their meaning up.  I am fascinated with how she literally writes as if Alexia is writing an autobiography.

Anyone who reads my other 'entries' realizes this site is a journal of sorts for me.  I leave it public with the hope that it may help someone else.  This particular entry however is a review of a steampunk romantic fiction I have read recently.

I am into the fourth book already but I may be going back to read the third at some point.  The events depicted in the first half of the book are indecorous with my tastes.  I read fiction to help me be happy and forget about depression among other things.

That is why I read various subgenres of romantic fiction, there is always a happy ending.  I read Science Fiction and Fantasy earlier in my life and grew dissatisfied with books being a tragedy half the time like say Ender's Game.  Great book, just beyond my interests.

Today started as a θ, but is ending as a β day.  Just am feeling that my parents are confusing themselves from feeling any love my way.  Their worrying about 'my' future if they should die.  Well, that would be a problem and a solution will present itself or it will not.  I see little productive in fretting over what 'might' be.

Better to focus on what I want and let the Goddess handle the disharmony between that and the Prime Material.

My first novel is a Steampunk Romance novel.  So I have been reading books in this genre and am loving them.  They are exactly what I want.  So I look for more.

There seemed to be a lack of any group on goodreads.com that focused on that combined genres or even the broader science fiction romance genre.  They had the categories for books but no groups.

So I created one, and a FaceBook Page to accompany it.  Tomorrow I might create a Google+ Page but will see how well I can integrate the three pages.  Probable will want to fine tune the FB+ page too.

My parents went over to a friends house to eat 'dinner' but I stayed home.  I want to start living Sunday as a holy day of rest again… just holy in a Jedi Witkhkraft way.

Admittedly, the professional stuff with the goodreads.com and FaceBook+ pages creation was more prevelant in my mind but it all contributed to me saying no.

Well… I did give them an option to show they 'actually wanted' me to be there and they refused.

I said I wanted to take a shower.  My Mother after she asked my Father, and she said they would wait if I did it now... Or once I got to a point in Goodreads that I could save and start up again on another computer later.  Which would be a literally a minute or two.

That was enough for my Father to declare it improper behavior and left.  My mom probably thought she did not have a choice but that is false.  She choose to confuse herself with archaic mesogynistic rules, instead of making a choice.  I shrugged and did my thing.

They both obviously confused themselves, failed to act intelligent & wise, and actually want my company.

I have zero control over their choices.  I can only control my own.

I choose to 'expect' them to behave like their sentient sapiens.  Times like today they let me down.

I did mess up and choose to eat a couple slices of a cheese cake;  That, is off the Ideal Protein diet.  I know that I am as flawed as anyone else.

I had a television dinner entree too.  But the ones I got are low carb… still off the diet but a lot closer.

Being on the Ideal Protein Diet is without a switch to turn it on and off.  The focus is keeping your body in "Ketosis".

That is why eggs, cheese, and meat are better because they just give you more fat to burn;  Instead of shifting your liver's chemistry out of "Ketosis".

The people who run the Ideal Protein clinic are looking to hire a new coach.  They had two quit in short succession.  I am thinking of applying.  I ask the Goddess and Her angels to control, direct, help, inspire, and motivate me to be, do, feel, and think whatever will help me manifest what I want… whatever will help me the most to choose to be happy…

What I want, what will help me the most to choose to be happy… is for my Ideal Wife {mb Taylor Alison Swift} and I to meet, get married, and begin/live our Ideal Marriage/Family.

I know that I am without any way of manifesting that besides casting spells {prayers} to the Goddess.  Writing daydremaing, and artistic fun is supposed to help too.

They idea of controlling other than the self, is a dangerous delusion.

There is a very rigid disharmony between my Prime Material and my happiness.
